Antiaging

Understanding the anti-aging process comes from understanding the aging process. Our skin is subject to the wear and tear of time and this is mainly due to exposure to sunlight and atrophy of fat and muscle. Sunlight essentially causes photoaging, i.e. permanent damage to cellular DNA resulting in brown spots, age-related discolorations, thinning of the skin – by absorbing and reducing the production of collagen and elastin – and thickening of the epidermis. In addition, gravity drags all anatomical structures (skin, muscle, fat) to the ground and causes the oval shape of the face to be reversed. The latter in combination with lipodystrophy (absence of adipose tissue and therefore support of the face) makes a person look aged.

It is therefore easy to understand that in order to achieve anti-aging, many fronts must be dealt with at the same time and depending on the age and condition of each patient it is important to adapt the treatments, which may sometimes be preventive (non-invasive treatments) and sometimes more aggressive (invasive treatments).
